Chaminade Mourns the Loss of Sean Glanvill '13

The Chaminade Family offers our deepest support and prayers for Sean and his family. Sean was an exceptional young man and he touched many lives in a beautiful way.

May he rest in peace.

Sean Richard
Glanvill (20) passed away in the presence of his loving parents & siblings on November 10th, 2014. Sean was born in St. Louis on July 28th 1994, an adoring son of South African born Derek and Penny Glanvill and precious brother to Kirsten and Nicholas Glanvill. In May 2007, Sean was involved in a tragic car accident and suffered a traumatic brain injury. After 18 months in hospital, Sean eventually came home to the support of his family; grounded in faith and the hope of a loving God. Sean spent a courageous 7 1/2 years of incredible perseverance and rehabilitation yet joyful years with his family. Ultimately after enduring and overcoming many challenges, Sean passed away after spending six weeks in intensive care at St Louis Children's Hospital. Sean will be dearly missed by many who were touched by his caring, energetic and spirited heart who loved to bring pleasure to his parents, family, coaches and friends. Sean had an endearing smile that touched everyone around him. His life has inspired many people - motivating them with their faith, to better appreciate life and to have loving relationships. As a gifted athlete, his tenacious and relentless work ethic drove his incredible courage during his fight to live, beating the odds, surprising doctors with his determination and never-give-up attitude. He will be missed dearly by many who knew him or simply those who knew his story.
